Weekend Top 5: Insane 75-foot shot edition

by Jon McDonald

5. Minnesota Vikings - Brett Favre and company head into the playoffs with the No. 2 seed and a first round bye after humiliating the New York Giants 44-7, who were apparently didn’t get the memo that the team had another game left. The Vikings benefitted from an Eagles loss to slide into the second position in the NFC.

4. Dexter McCluster - The Ole Miss running back ended his senior season by earning a Cotton Bowl MVP award in his team’s win over Oklahoma State. In his trophy case, McCluster can place his 2010 Cotton Bowl MVP trophy right next to his 2009 Cotton Bowl MVP trophy that he earned in a win over Texas Tech.

3. Tim Tebow - Not only did the Florida quarterback set a personal career best, he threw for more yards than any quarterback in Florida history and anyone in BCS history. Not a bad final game, but the question is now: Will we ever see those numbers again from Timmy?

2. Chris Johnson - The diminutive, speedy Titans running back claimed the NFL rushing title and became only the sixth player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season. Johnson’s next challenge? Apparently Usain Bolt would like to race him to see who is the fastest man alive. Good luck with that, Chris.

1. Chandler Parsons - How do you get to number one on the list by only making one shot in a basketball game? Make a game-winning buzzer-beating 3-pointer from 75 feet away to beat N.C. State on the road. This is one that Gator fans will not soon forget, so here it is again in case you forgot.

While we Gators will remember this shot for a very long time, you can bet that that NC State fans won’t be able to forget it for much longer!

Good shot. Way to hang in there and be in the position to win this game!
